Zaré Clinic
At Zaré Clinic our mission is to transform the essence of surgical care. From innovative approaches in laparoscopic and robotic surgery to personalized delivery of care, our goal is to ensure that your experience is uniquely meaningful.
Dr. Marc Zaré is a nationally recognized board-certified surgeon practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2002 he has been pioneering minimally invasive surgery of the gastrointestinal system and transforming care for thousands of patients nationwide. We are privileged to be entrusted with your care.
Dr. Zaré's methods, which have been refined over twenty years, integrate cutting-edge surgical approaches with carefully crafted evidence-based protocols. When delivered in a personalized setting, they produce outcomes that represent the best of surgery: over 1300 consecutive laparoscopic vertical sleeve gastrectomies without staple line leak, over 3000 consecutive laparoscopic inguinal hernia repairs without mesh related complications, over two decades of robotic and laparoscopic colon resection without deep space infection, etc.
Dr. Zaré obtained his surgical training at Georgetown University, Washington DC. As a young resident he was recognized for his unique approach to laparoscopic surgery and was awarded the bespoke best resident in laparoscopic surgery. During residency he collaborated in early pioneering work on Sleeve Gastrectomy. Subsequently, as a fellow at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Boston University and Boston VA, he continued his innovation and research.
He has presented his research at over 50 international, national, and regional scientific meetings and first-authored several publications in peer reviewed journals including Annals of Surgery. His pioneering clinical work includes some of the earliest advanced robotic general surgery procedures in Northern California.
In his leadership role, Dr. Zaré has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the Department of Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors at Santa Clara County Independent Practice Association. Dr. Zaré is also the Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program at Good Samaritan Hospital, where he has been responsible for uninterrupted designation of center-of-excellence at the facility for over ten years.
Over the years, various major healthcare organizations have recognized and awarded our practice for high-quality patient care and superior outcomes. We currently offer surgery of the gastrointestinal system, bariatric surgery, and abdominal wall hernia repair.
